The Royal Blog Tour Featuring Lovely As A Tree

Welcome to my Castle!

It is so great to see you visiting during the Royal Blog Tour.  I am happy to share with you my take on one of my long time favorite stamp sets Lovely As A Tree.  I hope that you "royally" enjoy your time here viewing the projects I've prepared for your visit.

For my first card I wanted to use a layout from one of the weekly challenges I try to participate in and I had so much fun with I changed up the stamp and the papers.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The DSP is from my almost gone package of the Sweet Pea Paper Pack in the Occasions Mini.   I am so sad to see them go but I guess that’s why we all ordered an extra one before the mini sales period was over.  To create the image I sponged multiple colors onto my paper and then stamped my tree with black over the top of my mussed up colors.  The picture doesn’t show it too well but I used some  gold Smooch Spritz over the top and it made my tree all shimmery.  I then used my handy dandy Circle Scissor Plus to make the perfect size.  Notice that texture on my Really Rust accent piece.  Well that is from the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder in the just released Summer Mini.  If you haven’t looked at that yet you just don’t know what your missing.

For my second card I wanted to keep things soft and simple so I used the stained glass technique on my leaves.  I think the Vellum Cardstock is so impressive to work with and I was very inspired by a card created by Lee Conrey.

With the color applied to the back side and then layered up on dimensionals over a light colored cardstock is just softens up the card.

After having so much fun trying out new layouts and going back to a favorite technique I looked thru my wish list of techniques to try and just fell in love with this next one.  It’s called Black Magic.

I was always so worried about having to color over white craft ink and I don’t know why after trying this out.  I guess I just thought the white ink would be messy and hard to cover up but much to my surprise when I dug out my water color pencils and started playing it covers up  quickly and had as awesome look. I finished it off with some Super Nova Glitter instead of the usual White Gel Pen and  it just added that touch of class I was aiming for.

And before too long while I was stamping I was thinking about how I was soon going to need to start packing to head north for this months clubs and being able to see my super sweet new grandson.  So of course I was thinking baby.  Now I know this stamp set doesn’t scream baby but look what I came up with.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Isn’t this just too cute.  I started out working on a winter scene and moved along my supply shelf and bumped into this sweet little deer and with baby Noah on my mind my card took a turn.  I had my white embossed trees already done so I simply added some Bashful Blue sky filled with soft little clouds and some  Certainly Celery meadow and baby boy showed up.  I love when that happens!

I hope you've enjoyed your visit to my Castle and again I thank you for spending some time with me.
